The Olympic games are over.

Winter Olympic Games are over, our Czech athletes arrived home and other sport feast is history. How Ales Valenda, gold Olympic medal winner, evaluates the past Olympic games?

“I would say that the Olympic Games were very successful for the Czech Republic mainly due to great performance of Martina Sablikova. I also enjoyed Lukas Bauer competition (shame he did not achieve another success in 50 km) and performance of all 4 members of our bronze relay. Also nice performance of Sarka Zahrobska pleased me, too. So I really think it was successful.

What I mainly appreciate is that the whole event was very “human”. It has everything which life brings - victory and losses, happiness and sadness, beginning and end,” declares Ales.

Ales also added: “If we talk about Czech Republic, it is simple. The amount of 6 medals is a record and according to that we may evaluate that it was very successful event. I look forward to the following Olympic games – summer Olympic games in 2012 in London and also winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014.”
