WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN INDOOR TRACK-CYCLING IN MANCHESTER 2009
Titular of World Champion and new world record for Jiří Ježek.

Paralympic winner and World Champion in cycling Jiří Ježek, who succeeded in paralympic games in Peking, showed himself in very good light in the most important start in this season. On velodrome in Manchester he won long-for titular in pursuit race for 4 km. He aimed his pre-season part exactly to this race. During press conference after win in Peking he spoke about this titular like his dream and target for next season. This cup was the only one which he was missing in his collection.

His great condition, supported by one month long special preparation, he showed immediately in qualification. He defeated his rivals in new world record 4:40,899. 3 years old world record of Robert Alcaide from Spain was improved by more than 2,5s.
In final race with Romanian Eduard Novak it was one man show, because Jiří with survey watched his competitor and won gold medal and dreamed titular.

Great physic condition and extraordinary universality confirmed Jiří Ježek in two next starts when he participated. In race for 1 km with standing start he was third in his personal best 1:10,198 and like a member of silver trio in team sprint he completed his medal collection.
Very successful season 2009 he finished with conquering his dream cup and with fantastic achievement, which changed world tables.
Thanks to his sponsors and fully professional background conditions was Jiří able to confirm, that he is one of the most important sportsmen in the world. He represents big motivation for all not just handicapped people with his achievements and his approach in training.
Not even one year later, on Friday 6.11. 2009, his dream became reality.
