Vabroušek participated in Challange Triathlon Roth
Almost 10 years, it is the time which Petr Vabroušek needed for his decision to go to classic Challange Triathlon Roth. The member of NUTREND Team and one of the most successful world triathlon athletes accepted the invitation of meeting director and came to European Mecca of triathlon, to Roth.
Hard preparing for race
Petr didn’t underestimate the preparing for this race. The break between Ironmen in Japan and in Germany fulfilled with the “vacation” on Cyprus. The vacation was kind of his way – in these 10 days he run 198 km, rode 760 km on the bike and swam about 20 km. Like a relaxation he was 4 times in the gym.
After arrival, the weather changed his plans to ride a bike. In stand of he must go for blood taking.
In the place of the race acquainted Petr oneself with condition of the race. The worst for him was the swimming part in artificial canal Mohan-Danube. The solution of biking part was two circles with superelevation of the road about 1000 m. His fovourit marathon run was a circle on sandy roads along the canal.
Record day
After 300 m of swimming Petr realized, that the choice of the athlete who should help him to time about 50 minutes wasn’t good and to cycling part he had 7 minutes loss. His biking session was good like usually and he improved his placement a lot. To final part he entered like twentieth. The run was really great even through two two-minutes stops. His marathon time was 2:43:00. In finish he was tenth in his personal best time in Ironmen meetings, 8:15:03.
