Next stop of Selle Italia-Ghezzi, Canada team flies to Canada for the World Cup
After the World Cup round the girls will also participate in two short stage races. Member of NUTREND international team flies to Canada for the World Cup. They will show the power of NUTREND products on American continent.
After the Tour de l'Aude other great international races will be on the schedule of the Selle Italia-Ghezzi so the girls will be racing on the streets of Canada for about two weeks: the main event will be on Saturday May 30 in Montreal as will be disputed the sixth round of World Cup.
After the race the team will stay in Montreal because from 1 to 4 June will be held Le Tour du Grand Montréal, a stage race ranked 2.1 and divided into five fractions. In the following days the group will move to Prince Edward Island where, from 7 to 11 June, will be disputed the Tour de PEI, another race divided into five stages but this time of category 2.2. The riders who will contest in all three races will be the Lithuanian Bagdonaviciute, Dutch Bras and Italian Borgato, Presti, Romoli and Tamanini. Will be absent, instead, Fabiana Luperini that won this World Cup race in 2007 while last year she was second: the tuscan climber remained in Italy to training for the Giro d'Italia and she will back racing at the Emakumeen Bira, in the Basque Country.
We go to Canada with the hope to take back beautiful satisfactions - says the chairman of the team Walter Ricci Petitoni - and we have a competitive team. In past seasons we have always done very well in these races, it will not be easy to do the same also because last year in the Tour de PEI, we have won four stages and we placed three girls in the first three places in the general classification, but we are very motivated.
The Selle Italia-Ghezzi keeps proving itself as a very present team also in non-European races having already competed in Qatar and China so far this year and a similar schedule, combined with great performances can only make the sponsors happy as it confirms Giordano Ghezzi, owner of the company that deal in the processing of stainless steel and the is one of the two main sponsors of the team: «I have always been a big fan of cycling but for me this is the first year as sponsor. I have followed the girls in some races and they always behaved very well: I must say that it is really a nice satisfaction to see our brand carried around Europe and the World.
