First significant cycling success of NUTREND International Team
NUTREND International Team celebrates another great success! And this time it was cycling that brought NUTREND happiness. Martine Bras - member of Selle Italia-Ghezzi Team supported by NUTREND - took the fifth place in the Tour of Flanders. Martine thus confirmed her great form and showed that we can expect a lot from her this season.
The Selle Italia-Ghezzi continues to smile in the World Cup through another good result of Martine Bras: Dutch, already tenth in Cittiglio, was one of the protagonists of the 6th edition of the Tour of Flanders seizing a prestigious fifth place, beaten only by the strongest sprinter of the moment.
The race saw several attacks but Martine has always been very careful in the first positions of the group and she was able to stay in the group of 18 athletes formed on Bosberg, the last wall of the day: an excellent performance even if girls like Teutenberg or Wild were almost impossible to beat in the final sprint.
«Martine was a very good today - tells Walter Ricci Petitoni - she gave it all and she was very tired at the end of the race. She lives here in Belgium so she loves this race: this morning she was a bit nervous but she was able to catch the best result ever for her and the team here in Tour of Flanders». We have also to mention a good run by Kaytee Boyd, who finished her first race with the team despite a bad fall in the very first kilometres. By virtue of the 27 points earned with the fifth place Martine Bras is now seventh in the World Cup, the same position occupied by the Selle Italia-Ghezzi in the team ranking.
The six girls in the race today (Luperini, Corneo, Kozonchuk, Bagdonaviciute, Boyd and Bras) will race again tomorrow in the GP de Dottignies, A belgian category 1.2 race with almost all the best riders of this Ronde Van Vlaanderen.
